Rhythm

This week I created new pieces inspired by the costumes worn by Mexican women. Focused on what they wear when they dance of folklor. These women wear the most amazing saturated colors that I have ever seen and when they dance. It is as if the colors of their dresses mix together to great this amazing abstraction of color. All of these women grab their dresses and move them to the rhythm of the music. Its is a beautiful site in deed. They also at times add colored ribbon no their hair to decorate their head. I would recommend many artist and the general public to see this dance. It is inspiring in so many ways and it shows a side of the latin culture that not many get to see. Both men, women, children, and young adults dance this dance to honor their heritage and their love for dance.

I have seen this dance before but this last time I was so inspired to paint my abstracts and have them show the motion that these women create with their dresses. It made me choose bolder colors and paint to the rhythm of the music. Its almost enchanting the way that they are able to move their dresses and create these half circles. My new pieces are intrepretations of what I saw on the dance floor. The colors are an influence of the culture and the color that I saw with in the dance.

Rhythm is a portfolio created by all my musical inspirations. I search for inspiration everywhere I go but one of the things that fasinates me is the motion that people have when they are dancing. I see what they are wearing and their dance moves as brush strokes. As if a painting is coming to life right in front of me.
This whole body of work is meant to show the motion men and women do at the time of a dance. I am interested in both what people wear when they go out dancing and the motion they create while they are dancing. These abstracts are a sort of recording of their body movement.

My inspiration comes from modern dance, folklor, tribal dancing, and much more. It is not at all limited. In fact, I want to learn more about dancing as I keep on painting. Here are some images of the women dancing that inspire me. That is why this body of work is called Rhythm. The paintings are a way of me showing the rhythm with in these dances.

I would say its like a really long exposure if I was taking a photograph. The longer the exposure the more motion blur the images gets. I replicate their dance moves on my canvas with my bushes and palette knife. Please enjoy and let me know if you know of any dance that interests you. I might no know of it and it could help me find a new inspiration.

Welcome

Hello Everyone!
Welcome to my blog. I'm a painter showing my work through out California. My work consists of an artist expression. I have a a huge amount of influences such as paintings, photographs, music, and everyday life experiences, but most of all nature. Nature is what gives me my ideas, and it has showed me the way I should view color! Next time you see a bird, really observe it.  See its colors and how nature has given it the perfect amount of color. From saturated reds to light timid browns. Color is all around us all we need to do is pay attention and enjoy the little things in life.

Enjoy my work and please stop by to see newly finished work. I also post new work that is just finished drying. Have a wonderful day everyone.
